Radio Spots
Well - the KFRC deal fell through. They insisted on altering my ad requiring that I put a disclaimer in it that "This is a paid commercial". Something that I wasn't willing to do. So - they said I'll be getting my money back on it and that's a good thing. So - I did have some spots professionally produced by my old radio guy David Lewis from back in the old days when I had a computer retail store in Springfield Missouri.

Here are the ads: All are good - but I like the first two the best.

So - if any of you have any $$$ and you want to download these ads and put them on your local radio station - let me know. That would be a great way to spread the word. Also - feel free to post these on your web sites.

If I get more revenue than it costs me then I will take the extra money and expand the radio campaign. If I get less than what it costs me then the ads go away. Most of the money that we are starting with is money I've put in myself. And - this church isn't going anywhere until I get other people on board. But - I think I have a good plan and I'm hoping it will work.

Besides staying on the air - doing these radio spots is a media launch. I'm hoping that it will leverage me into the news media - get me on talk shows - and tweak the Christians just enough to get them talking about the Church of Reality. I believe that just to get the name out there - that there is a Church of Reality - and that it is a religion based on believing in what's real - and it causes people to ask the Sacred Question - "What is Real?" - that this will make a profound change in the world. And I'm hoping that you will see this and contribute to the cause.

As you know the Christian Right - that seems to be taking over Christianity - thinks they own America and that they are going to prepare the world for the second coming and the destruction of the planet. I know this is (hopefully) an exaggeration - but this is a country that has turned it's back on reality. We are having a very twisted version of "morality" laid on us and they are screwing with the culture in some very unhealthy ways.

I believe it is time to challenge these other religions head on and compete for the religious mind space. and what better religion than believing in reality itself. After all - you don't get any more real than that. I want to work reality into the religious dialog and help other religions evolve in a more positive direction. I'm not out to eliminate fiction based religions. But I do want to keep them from becoming dangerous and hurting themselves and others - including me.

If you haven't fully explored this web site you should do so now. I want you to fully understand what the church of Reality is all about and decide if you want to support the cause. If you like what you see then come back here and throw a little something in the hat to keep this going. I know a lot of you are cash strapped so if you like this and can't contribute real money - if you can tell your friends and link to us on your web sites - that would really help a lot. Right now the mission is to get the word out and every time you talk about reality - you are sending the Sacred Message. We are one people sharing this planet. We are all in this together - and we are going to have to figure out how to make it work. If you like what you hear and you want other to hear it to - $75 gets it played again.

Interviews and Audio Clips
Marc Perkel, the First One of the Church of Reality is often heard (but not often enough) giving radio interviews. Interviews are good because it gives other people the chance to ask the questions they want and give us insight into what people are thinking about reality based religion.

In December of 2004 Marc Perkel was interviewed on Air America Radio. The interview is about 20 minutes long and Mike Malloy did a fine job of making Reality interesting.

Early in 2005 Reggie Findley the Infidel Guy interviewed me in a call in format in an hour long show. Reggie is a really good interviewer and interviews many people on religious topics.

Soon after I was on the Infidel Guy I was invited by Joe Vecchio to be on the Cup O' Joe Show. This is a longer interview and it is also a lot about my history and other things I've been into besides just the Church of Reality. Maybe more about me than you really want to know. The original show is an hour long and if you have the time it's worth listening to. But I did cut it down to a 40 minute version that is a lot smaller to download and is just that part where I talk.

I like radio better than TV because on the radio you can hear me say, "you know" every 3 seconds. But on TV you can see me say it over and over again as well. Last summer I was on thos wonderful TV show on cable access TV in Mountian View California called "What's up with That?", hosted by Firedup Productions. This is a big file (140 megs) and is in Quicktime format so it's going to take some time to download to watch. And the audio levels in the first few minutes are kind of clipped but it does get better if you stick with it. Andrew Willyoung did a brilliant job of interviewing me. And it's a lot of fun so Here it is.

In October of 2005 John Sugg who does interviews on a non profit radio station in Atlanta did this 23 minute interview about the Church of Reality and politics. It also convers letters to the editor that I write.

Here's another radio interview on a syndicated Christian talk show called The Way of the Masters. The Interveiw is 50 minutes long and is a very interesting interview by a hard core Christial fundamentalist Todd Friel who is very sharp and asks a lot of good questions.

On March 5, 2006 I got a call from KXRA 540 Radio who has a show called The Naked Ape. The interview is 30 minutes long and covers a variety of subjects including the recient edict about the South Dakota Abortion Law.
