Although the Church of Reality encourages forgiveness and rehabilitation, we do not absolve sinners. Forgiveness is between the parties involved and can not be given out by a third party such as a church or deity. Our view is that absolution from sin is irresponsible and it gives the sinner a false sense that their record is somehow expunged.
Our view is that everything a person does is forever part of their Life Story and the Story of the Universe. What you do becomes what you did and that once it is done then it is part of history and one can not change history. Once a bell is rung it cannot be unrung. This encourages Realists to take responsibility for their actions and to not do bad things in the first place.
