The Principle of Inclusiveness
The pursuit of the reality as it really is and the understanding of understanding is available to everyone. We are not an exclusive club and we do not discriminate based on minor genetic differences, cultural background, political affiliation, religious history, the geography of your birth location, sexual preferences, lines on a map, your gender, the shape of your body, or what frequencies of light are reflected off the surface of your skin (color). Although some people are smarter than others, everyone can improve themselves. So if you have two brain cells and are tired of living the lie, the Church of Reality is available to you. We are one planet. We are all part of the human race. We are all here together. We have to learn how to get along in a manner that is eqitable to everyone.

All people have intrinsic value. People are born in different locations and in different economic circumstances and different cultures. But we are all people and every individual has certain rights for just being a member of the human race. The Church of Reality recognizes that it is in the best interest of all of us to support social justice for everyone and to recognize that true wealth comes only when the basic needs of all of us are met. Inclusiveness insures that everyone has a place at the table.

The Church of Reality differs from other religions in that one of our missions is to move towards inclusiveness rather than exclusiveness. Some religions focus on distinguishing church members as superior people. It is us vs. them. We are the chosen ones. They are the infidels. The worthy and the unworthy. They draw lines to divide the saved from the lost.

Our world view is that everyone is an us. That is at least our goal to move towards that direction. Rather than to draw lines distinguishing ourselves from others we try to erase those lines so that we can all work together towards positive evolution for everyone. We choose to focus on what we have in common. If we disagree then maybe we have an opportunity to learn something in the process. We focus on building bridges and building relationships with others. We think that reality is a benefit to everyone and that by making reality important and inspiring people to think about reality, we are helping them improve their lives and make the world a better place for all of us.

Newsflash
The God who Wasn't There is a really great film that I highly recommend. I saw an early screening of it at Stanford and I loved it. It goes into the early history of Christianity to determine if the character Jesus ever actually existed. I was surprised to find that much of the Jesus story was already in fiction for hundreds of years before Jesus was supposedly born. This is a documentary of how the Jesus myth was created and how little today's Christians know about the history of their own religion. Here's a really great Trailer for the movie. (18mb Quicktime format)

Most Atheists like myself have generally believed that the story of Jesus was at least based on some real events, some popular preacher that may have really existed and was later turned into a supernatural figure by his followers. But it is becoming clear to me that Jesus is total fiction and the stories are adapted from the fiction of the time. I recommend this film to everyone. It gives you a LOT to think about.
