The Sacred Moral Question |
The Sacred Moral Question is - "Is this a Good Thing?" It cannot be separated from the related question, "What is Good?" It is indispensable in the quest for a fair and just society where people take reality into account in deciding the great moral and ethical questions. Often the rules of society are based on other things than what is in the best interest of the people. There are issues for which it is genuinely difficult to determine a system that takes all factors into account. To this end the Church of Reality poses the Sacred Moral Question in the hope that it reminds us to include in our decision making process the question "Is this a good thing that we are doing based on reality--and can we do better than this?" Goodness and Reality should always be considered in any process to determine a moral issue or an issue of law.
